Burundi Kabarore Commune Yandaro

Bean Details
When roasted to the lighter end of the roast spectrum, Yandaro's dry fragrance shows smells of raw cane sugar with n otes of vanilla and dark spices. Pouring hot water draws out the sweetness even more and you catch whiffs of cola soda, honey and dark brown sugar in the steam. As a brew, City and City+ roasts flood the cup and a wide range of molasses-type, unrefined sugar flavors, showing a real depth of sweetness. Lemon-like brightness compliments raw sugar and black tea flavor notes and leads into a brisk finishing flavor in my lightest roast. Though I pick up on black currant and raisin hints, fruit flavors are understated and it's the spiced top notes that leave a lasting impression, like all spice and whole clove. Full City roasts work great for espresso (brewed coffee too!), offering a somewhat snappy shot, with a brief lemon note up front that gives way to syrupy chocolate and a dried fruit hint in the aftertaste.
