The Specialty Coffee Association developed a coffee flavor wheel (pictured above) for the purposes of giving us a vocabulary to describe coffee flavors. But those of us with untrained taste buds may struggle to define flavors with so much specificity. Besides, some of us prefer to keep it simple anyway.

So how do you describe your coffee to other people... or even to yourself? Are you able to detect notes of apple and pear with a hint of dirty socks that have been chewed apart by a lonely dog on a Tuesday morning?

Or is it just... "pretty nice"?
